Teen Challenge Korea
Another story we came across was of a father who would smoke philopon (methamphetamine) then force his daughter to smoke it and after this took place he proceeded to rape her. Another story was of a husband who told his family it¡¯s ok to smoke philopon (methamphetamine) as all the film stars do it. Just before we moved to Korea a certain Korean TV network showed a documentary about the drug problem in Korea and since then there has been another documentary on about Korean drug abuse.
It was these news stories and Korean TV documentaries that would confirm ever so solidly within me that our call to Korea was real and would become a living a reality.
My wife and I firmly believe that God has called us to pioneer the work of Teen Challenge in Korea. Our hearts desire is to see broken lives, families and communities restored by the power of God. We believe that Teen Challenge in Korea will become a spring board for other ministries in South Korea and Asia. My heart¡¯s desire is to serve the Korean people by bringing this life transforming ministry to South Korea. When Jesus said, ¡°so if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed¡± ? it was a promise that has been fulfilled and is still being fulfilled today.
If you don¡¯t know this freedom then today you can! If you know this freedom for yourself, then go and liberate others with the love and power of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
In the land of the morning calm a day of disruption is invading families and young lives across the nation of Korea with underage drinking, youth gangs, violence in the community and schools, broken and dysfunctional families, sexual/mental/physical abuse, pornography addiction, suicide, behavioural and substance addictions is on the increase.
Teen Challenge is a proven ministry with a proven track record that deals with the issues head on by facilitating life transformation and restoration in an environment that would provide positive change that would benefit the individual, the community and society.
Teen Challenge believes that when a student makes a decision to surrender his or her will to Jesus Christ and to establish a personal relationship with him, that such a spiritual conversion produces an essential transformation of life. This transformation is received as a gift for all, at God¡¯s initiative, and depends solely on his grace.
The conversion experience, known as ¡°being saved¡± or ¡°born again,¡± is not a path of escapism chosen as a means to cope with what appears to be insurmountable problems, but rather a spiritual encounter that produces in the convert a sense of dignity, self-worth, hope and personal empowerment. The change in the student¡¯s life is observable, real and often dramatic.
Along with theological doctrines, Teen Challenge emphasizes an experiential Christianity. They believe that the Holy Spirit enables the new believer to translate creed into conduct, faith into practice and doctrine into daily living. Local centers become laboratories where students demonstrate in practical actions terms how the Gospel works its way out in their lives.
The mission statement of Teen Challenge Korea is very simple ? Reaching out! Raising up! Sending out!
Teen Challenge Korea is exists to restore broken lives and families by impacting society with the life and gospel of Jesus Christ in providing holistic healing.
The Teen Challenge program is designed to be a year long and the aim of the program is to facilitate life transformation individually as well as corporately. The ministry has a holistic approach on the development of each individual in the program meaning we focus on spiritual, educational, relational, emotional and vocational development.
The program is divided into 3 phases ? induction, training, re-entry phase. In addition to this, we will be adding a follow up phase which will involve people within society and the church.
Bus ministry, open air evangelistic events, education for poor families, school prevention and awareness seminars, feeding and clothing the poor
This would be a training school to help raise up ministry leaders to help meet the need across Korea as well as help other Teen Challenge ministries in Asia.

Teen Challenge Korea is registered as a NGO with the Korean government and we are in need of getting property to start the program and be able to take young men or young women with children into the program.
In addition to this, I am looking to go to different churches to share my testimony and gather support for the ministry of Teen Challenge Korea as well as to do youth evangelistic meetings. The ministry of Teen Challenge Korea would like to get into the schools to do prevention and youth work.
We want to see the Korean church partner with this ministry as one helps the other. For example, when one person comes into the program what happens to that person¡¯s family and so as Teen Challenge Korea raises up the one, the family would be connected and raised up by the local church. Thus, to make one life better, is to make the family unit better and in doing this you make the community a better place.
